Jesus Christ was and remains to be one of the most controversial figures in human history. His life and teaching have shaped the world and influenced billions of people. What makes Jesus so controversial is not His teaching on love or peace or forgiveness, but rather on His claim about the exclusivity of His teaching above others. In John 14:6 we read some of the most radical words He ever said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” To the modern ear this is at the height of arrogance and intolerance. In todays culture it is okay to be a Christian as long as you do not think that Christianity is the only way. However, John 14:6 is not only radical, but is at the heart of Biblical Christianity! If Christianity is just one of the many right ways to God our message is void of power and Jesus is a liar. But if Christianity is the only way then the world desperately needs to hear our message of salvation in the name of Jesus Christ.
