Dearest friends, welcome to Reality.

Reality Conference is the continuing work that goes on within our youth ministry, most recently known as Upstream. First, to explain the name of our ministry: we at Word of Grace Bible Church understand the importance of leading a life that does not simply morph into the skewed understanding and values of the world; but instead to go upstream from those ideals, glorify God in everything, and let the His light shine through our every deed and word. This is why we are known as Upstream Youth Ministry, and this is the driving force behind organizing this conference.

Reality conference started out as something much simpler than what it has grown to be. It started out merely as a Thanksgiving holiday youth gathering in 2003, but through God’s grace it has grown to become a massive blessing not only to our church and youth group, but also to people from all over the United States and abroad. This could not be possible without all of the people who truly serve with love and whose goal is to build others up by making this wonderful event happen. In 2007 we decided to make this conference official and that’s when we adopted the name Reality. We felt this was fitting to what was going on within the conference: the truth being presented in a pure and unadulterated way, i.e., presenting reality as it is presented through the word of God.

Over time Reality has become an amazing opportunity to meet new people, build relationships, and learn to serve one another. While this is an amazing thing and is very necessary in growing spiritually and building others up, the purpose of Reality is to profess the transforming nature of the Gospel of Jesus Christ while introducing people to our church and ministry. One of our main goals is to ensure that through the truth you hear and the people you encounter, your thinking and consequently your life will be transformed.

We at Word of Grace and Upstream are all truly excited to join you in a time of truth, worship, devotion, and fellowship. May God prepare your hearts and minds for this conference, we will see you all soon!
